China Lounge Restaurant & Bar
4220 A Rosewood Dr, Pleasanton, CA 94588, United States
Good food. Probably the best Chinese restaurant in the Dublin/Pleasanton area - of course, I’m not including any American Chinese restaurants in the competition. They specialize in Sichuan food which is famous for being spicy and flavorful.
King Wah Seafood Restaurant
2705 Stoneridge Dr suite M, Pleasanton, CA 94588, United States
Your standard Chinese restaurant. Menu is comprehensive, I ordered Beef Chow Fun, not in menu but they serve it. Most of the items on Dimsum were not available so please expect some surprises ?Jack of all trades but Master of none. Variety is plenty but no signature dish.Even though its a Chinese restaurant but they dont have Peking duck ??The bill includes a service charge...so be careful not to over Tip.Not a recommendation for unique experience but for sure its OK and So So for a taste of Chinese.

Ive dined at a lot of chinese restaurants, and this one, sorry to say, doesnt stand out! The food is average at best, and the price is way too high for what youre getting.I ordered four dishes to see how they tasted compared to other restaurants. Some of the dishes were too salty, while others were somewhat bland. For a well-known restaurant, in my opinion, management needs to address the cooking staff in their food preparations. The Cheesecake Factory had lines out the door. While this establishment had four tables to wait on. Something is wrong.....Just my observation and opinion.
Chinese Szechuan Restaurant
3059 Hopyard Rd STE F, Pleasanton, CA 94588, United States
This is my go to Chinese restaurant in Pleasanton. The ambiance is great. Their Sizzling Rice Soup is to die for. I especially love the Crispy Chicken with Garlic sauce. They always give complimentary egg rolls and fried Wontons. Staff is always cheerful and service is efficient. If you are a lover of chinese food and you haven’t been here, you are missing out!
Hunan Chef Chinese Restaurant

I was excited to have some Chinese food from this place. The other reviews looked promising and I had been craving Chinese food. I ordered for delivery and they told me it would take 30-45 minutes. No big deal - I expected it would take a bit. I asked for a spicy salsa/sauce on the side (which they have) and soy sauce with the delivery. They seemed really pleasant over the phone. They arrived on time and I set the food down, signed my receipt and they left. What I found was a huge portion of rice and the Kung Pao chicken I had ordered. It looked good! Then the first issue arose: no utinsels. Okay, they forgot - no big deal, but frustrating. I was staying at a hotel and did not have any silverware readily available. If I was I home, I wouldnt have cared, but they knew they were delivering to a hotel. Luckily the bar downstairs let me use their silverware. Then I go to eat and realize they didnt include the salsa I requested. So I shrug it off slightly disappointed and begin to eat anyway. This is where the serious problems start to occur. The chicken had a really weird texture. It was soft, chewy, almost mushy, almost jelly-like. Im not sure how it is prepared, but it reminded me of the fatty pieces on meat that I normally cut off. Except ALL of the chicken pieces were this consistency. I have never had chicken like this. Next issue, the oil. OH THE OIL!!! I have never seen so much oil in my life. The to-go container had HALF AN INCH of oil. Gross! Now comes the pork fried rice. The pork bits were extremely soft and jelly-like. Again, this consistency/texture really made me lose my appetite. But it was all a HUGE serving. I truly felt bad for having just started and already not anticipating being able to eat it. So I ate as much as I could until I could no longer look past the chicken, the oil and the flavor, which was slightly bland. Maybe the oil deluted the flavors? As for the rice, I could only eat a few bites before I had to eat around the pork bits and eventually pick them out. With 90% of the rice left over an about 3/4 of the main meal eaten, I had to stop and could not even force myself to eat more. All in all, this was not a good experience. This is the first poor review I have ever written of any restaurant. I really, really wanted to like it, but in the end it was next to impossible to eat. I say always give a place a chance even if the reviews reflect otherwise because some people just have too high expectations, but I would not be able to recommend this.
Mom Dumpling
5400 Sunol Blvd STE 2, Pleasanton, CA 94566, United States
Finally, an authentic Chinese restaurant in Pleasanton that brings back memories of the flavors that I experienced from my mothers cooking when I was a kid. The Pork Xiao Long Bao was made with a thin, delicate skin with a tasty broth that fills your mouth on your first bite; The Pan Fried Pork Bao were a nice surprise; The Shiitake Mushroom and Chicken Dumpling reminded me of my mothers dumplings; The noodles from the Braised Beef Brisket Noodle were cooked just right (nice and chewy) and the beef brisket was tender with just the right amount of gristle; and Finally, the Taiwan Popcorn Chicken also reminded me of a treat that my mother used to make.
CA NOODLE

Finally an authentic Chinese noodle restaurant in Pleasanton! The spicy pork noodle soup was delicious as was the braised beef noodle soup and fungus salad. A must try, the flavors are amazing.
S & J BBQ
2705 Stoneridge Dr Ste L, Pleasanton, CA 94588, United States
This is a below average restaurant, if it can be call that. They have closed dining and only do take out. Its still quite popular for some reason so orders are done with the lady shouting in open air. Yea...shouting. Its harder if you dont speak Chinese. They dont have any respect for the customer, they just take the order and leave you be. That could be good or bad depending on how you see service. There is NO atmosphere to speak of because it is a order for take out. The food is above average on most days as they are usually fresh due to the number of customers, unlike Ranch 99 beside it. However, their prices are pretty high for all their dishes. If you want something that is just as good, go into Ranch 99 and the noodle soups for cheaper as well as the BBQ items like duck.Sometimes the duck is on the fatty side but this is bad and good depending on how you like your duck. More fat typically means the meat and more tender, juicier and flavorful.Regardless, I rarely go there anymore due to the lack of customer respect.

I dont know what happened to this location recently but during my most 2 recent visits, they handed out so little food for my bigger plate, it makes me not want to come back here anymore. The fried noodles only filled up around 75% of the area where the noodles are put. This this most recent visit, they didnt even bother giving me fortune cookies. How cheap, and I sure as heck taking that survey that is written on the recipe to tell corporate how horrible this location is.
