Beijing Restaurant
1460 Halford Ave, Santa Clara, CA 95051, United States
This Korean-Chinese restaurant has stood the test of time. Typically, these restaurants are popular for a year or so, and then, as more people go through it, the food quality goes down in general. Beijing isnt an exception. When they first opened, the dishes were great including the staple that Korean-Chinese restaurants must get right - THE JJAJANGMYUN. After a couple years though, I felt the food quality drop. Rumors had it that the chef had left or the owner had changed. And it really went downhill. However, in more recent times, like 2018, something happened where food quality started to go back up. Not just the black bean noodles, but all the seafood or meat dishes also got an upgrade. Wait times were kept under control while the service improved as well as the food. And most importantly, the price remained minimally increased. Korean-Chinese cuisine is the staple of weekend eat out for a regular down-to-earth Korean family, And this restaurant is just that, perhaps the only one in the Bay Area. Super happy that Beijing has remained truthful to the authenticity that it needs to stay truthful to the needs of the Korean community here. And yes, weve already been here too many times. And returning for more!

OMG, you cant make mistakes here, everything you order would be DELICIOUS. Newly opened biz already crowded. The fish is fresh off the water, flavors are on point traditional Hunan style. The only tiny down side is open kitchen, so you might walk out with satisfied stomach and some spicy smell on your clothes. (But the owner said theyll work on it.) (March 4th 2018)Came for dinner again( Sep 30th, 2018). One of the BEST spicy CHINESE restaurant in the San Jose Santa Clara area. Interior design is much better, the menus have both Chinese and English with pictures. The boss is always smiling, along with quick responding staff, great service. Of course the food are no doubt DELICIOUS. The price is super decent. A MUST.

If youre looking for a Chinese restaurant in the Bay Area with lots of vegetarian options and a family-style dining experience, you have to check out Tong Soon in Santa Clara. They have many vegetarian dishes, and dishes can be made per your spice level. The restaurant is also great for families, as the dishes are meant to be shared and the portions are quite large. Some vegetarian dishes to try are the veggie chow mein, kung pao tofu, and stir-fried green beans.Their service is excellent (all older ladies who push you to try various dishes). They bring out the food very quickly, and don’t rush you to leave the table.Overall, House of Nanking is a great choice for a family-style Chinese dining experience with plenty of vegetarian options.

Coooking Papa in Santa Clara offers solid choices of Hong Kong style dishes. Food is good and flavorful. The service is typical of Chinese restaurant - be ready to wave your hand to get waiters’ attention. On the other hand, the bus staffs are pretty attentive in water and tea refills. I’ve been here a few times in last couple months and haven’t really had to wait for table.

I was excited to go to this famous Chinese world franchise restaurant. However, its kind of disappointing. The taste is average, even the local Chinese restaurant can make it. The most famous dish is their Xiao Long Bao. I had it in Taiwan and Beijing, but here I will only give it a C.The price is $$$. Prepare it before you go. But the service I should give it a A.
Panda Express
4701 Great America Pkwy, Santa Clara, CA 95054, United States
The food is always good, but the one thing is that they give the people who actually PAY SO MUCH MORE. Chinese workers are just selfish. They give you the tiniest bowl for dining pass. One time I was carrying an empty red paper cup that originally cannot be refilled. One of the workers said to me hey uhh by the way you cant refill that. I said I know because I was just going to throw that away anyways. BUT EVEN IF I DIDNT WANT TO TGROW IT AWAY, DOES THAT RED COCA COLA CUP EVEN LOOK LIKE A REFILLABLE CUP TO YOU?So greedy and also dumbIts not worth it, theres a panda express literally 5 minutes away in Santa Clara, just go there, they even allowed our swimsuits in because we wanted to go to the water park but it was closed. If you are craving for panda, eat there then come to great America, or else just use your dining pass on Maggies chicken because the servinga they give are so much more

This doesnt make sense at all the only restaurant ask for a donation it feel like I been being harrased and obligated to buy something to eat instead of enjoying my meal. One of the chinese lady ask fo donation and have attitude I told her no thanks I already donated to a homeless person and she did not give me my change back and she walk away with an attitude. Since then I promise my self to never put a step on this panda rocket restaurant.

The food is amazing! I loved my experience here. I came with 3 other people. We were seated upstairs next to a window, so we were able to people watch. The interior of the restaurant is elegant with tasteful decor, making it a aesthetically pleasing experience. The color theme is an emerald to turquoise, which is also seen in the dinnerware.Regarding the menu, the first thing our waiter told us was that today was the start of a new menu, so if we saw any photos or menus online, they may not have it. We were already aware their menu changes often, but that was a good heads up. He also said that this new menu is southern inspired by Cantonese and Malaysian cuisine. For drinks, we ordered the enchanted ginger $10 (mocktail), mojito (mocktail) $10, sparkling elderflower water (bottled), sparkling water $10 (1L bottled). They were all delicious! For a group of 4, we ordered: Crispy dim sum platter $32, Shanghai chicken pot stickers with spicy peppercorn sauce $18, Mapo tofu with peppercorn wagyu beef $28, Stir fried hand pulled noodles with shimeji, enoki, and shitake mushrooms $18, Thai fried seabass $30, and Stir fried black pepper beef tenderloin $38.We were all impressed by the taste of the food. This is an American Chinese restaurant or fusion restaurant. (So dont expect authentic Chinese cuisine or dishes). You could taste the quality. We had the Shanghai chicken pot stickers first, and they were pan fried to perfection. They were like little pillows of stuffed goodness. The crispy dim sum was a favorite. It comes with 2 each of 3 types of dim sum: wagyu beef puffs, pumpkin and duck dumplings, and fried seafood dumplings. My favorite was the pumpkin and duck dumpling, but all of them were good. We all enjoyed these. For the main courses, the beef tenderloin dish was sooo tender. We were impressed with this. I recommend getting this dish! The Thai fried seabass was tender as well. It is covered in sauce which was kind of like a sweet and sour sauce or sweet chili oil. Since its covered in sauce, its crispiness becomes soft over time. The hand pulled noodles were the weakest dish. I wouldnt order it. The noodles seemed overcooked, kind of soft. I expected more bounce or al dente texture. The mapo tofu came out sizzling. It comes with silky tofu in a spicy sauce with wagyu beef. It had a lot of umami. Since its a saucy dish, it goes well with noodles or rice. Since the hand pulled noodles were weak, I ate the mapo tofu with it. The mapo tofu was my favorite main dish.I wanted to also get dessert, the tira-mochi $15, but they no longer had it. They explained that they are changing their dessert menu soon. All in all, I loved my experience here. My group all loved the food. The ambience is great. I would come again.

Pork & shrimp wonton soup was incredible and really hit the spot on this cold December day. They dont over salt it like most Chinese restaurants. Also tried their Shanghai Soup dumplings which were incredible. All wontons and dumplings hand made. Good service as well. Really a great gem in Santa Clara.
