Pick Up Stix Fresh Asian Flavors
2504 Jamacha Road, El Cajon, CA 92019, United States
My food was delicious and I was happy however I went with a friend who has a gluten allergy and told the cashier this when she ordered. She asked them to tell the cook so that there wouldnt be any cross contamination. The cashier went and told the manager instead who then came over and talked to my friend. She again explained to the manager that she has a gluten allergy and would become very ill if there was any cross contamination and again, asked them to notify the cook of this. From there she could see that nobody ever went and spoke with the cook (open kitchen) and then watched as the cook picked up my ingredients (which contained gluten) and then handled hers without ever changing his gloves.

Supreme Auto Repair and Alignment
259 N Marshall Ave, El Cajon, CA 92020, United States
BACKGROUND: In July 2020, the driver side back tire blew out causing some major damage to the back of my car. It did cut through wires, but I had not known what other damage it might have caused. My car was doing well until one day, the sound of the door being ajar would not stop ringing, there was an awful smell coming from the car, and the car was making a weird sound. That is when I sent out one of those Yelp thingies to the various places about car repair.- - - - - - - - - - -Albeit I got a number of responses to my Yelp thingie, I started reading through each of their reviews. Supreme Auto had amazing reviews and I think I liked that fact it was not a big commercialized place. In one of the reviews, someone mentioned that it was a family shop and I wanted to support local shops as much as possible.- - - - - - - - -When I got to Supreme Auto Repair, I met Sam. He was very nice and understanding. I told him the whole story. He listened. It took one day but a complete diagnosis was completed. I came back the next day and he explained what the major needs of the car was in order to get it back on the freeway. I looked at the pricing and was shocked because I was being quoted about 4x more at Calibre Collision for some of the work.I will never forget what he had to say about the wiring: It is not rocket science if you know what you are doing, so it should not cost hundreds of dollars. Calibre had quoted me literally $1,000+ just for the wiring alone.I did the SNAP Loan thing which was annoying because the numbers were not working. HOWEVER, Sam was calm, cool, and collective, while I was a panicking mess. He was like, Dont worry, well get it to work. Which we eventually did.... Talk about a professional! He did share that a lot of the repairs were because maintenance was not performed regularly. He explained that even though I kept up with maintenance when I got the car, my aunt and her family had not. Thus these issues would have surfaced one way or another. This brought such a relief to me as I thought it was due to the tire blowing incident. When I took the car home that same day, I noticed that the smell was gone, the door ajar ringing was gone, and the car was running smoother than when I first brought it in. However, taking Sams recommendation, I took the side streets home. This time, I did not have to stop every so many miles to give the car a rest. I think they had already done some work on my car! Whoa!! I doubt a car dealership or Calibre would have done that!!- - - - - - - - - - -The following week, I took the car in for its repair. It took the weekend, and I got the car back on Monday (if I remember correctly). He did share that they did a final look over to see what else needed to be fixed. There was just one more thing. However, he guaranteed me that I could take the car on the freeway, that I would be able to visit my family in Los Angeles, and I should not worry. In fact, he told me to take the freeway home. Thats how confident he was in the work of his employees!Since seeing him, I have been to LA twice and on the freeway many times. Oh! And I now know what 3rd gear feels like. 3rd gear wasnt working on the car before!!- - - - - - - -Sam and his crew are very professional, nice, humble, and industrious. I think the operative word here is humble. They get the work done. They go above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied. So the question is: would I return to Supreme Auto Repair and Alignment? ABSOLUTELY!! They have not only earned my business but also my loyalty!!Thanks Sam and the Crew!! You all are the best!!
The Purple Mint Vegan Bistro
4616 El Cajon Blvd suite 3, San Diego, CA 92115, United States
I was super excited to try this place out and I really appreciate the options they offer. It is cool to see a vegan Asian food place as I dont see these often. I looked into the place a lot before going and was excited that they have a men online as well as pictures/reviews of their food. The food was good but I was very disappointed by the service at the restaurant. We called in a pick up order and they did not tell us the price over the phone. We should have prodded but the guy hung up very quickly. They also did not tell us that we would be up-charged for brown rice. When we got to the restaurant, I was surprised by the charge because the prices didnt match what I had seen on their website. They told me that their prices had changed quite a while ago (so why not update the website quite a while ago?!) and that brown rice was an additional charge which is in the menu and online. I have searched online extensively and have not found anywhere that they add a charge for brown rice. This would have been totally fine with me if they had mentioned it but this in addition to ALL of their prices being wrong online is quite frustrating. I would have changed my order had I known that the prices online were incorrect. They were very dismissive in the restaurant and clearly not willing to admit any fault on behalf of the restaurant. I have reached out to the restaurant about this but have not heard anything back. I think others should know to be wary of this place and definitely check that you are being charged correctly.Update 8/28: no one has contacted me back from this restaurant regarding my experience and communication with the staff. Certainly wouldn't recommend going here when they can't bother to reply to customers who have been wronged.
Terra American Bistro
7091 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA 92115, United States
I recently visited Terra American Bistro with a group of about 20 people and unfortunately, our experience fell far short of expectations. I feel compelled to share my honest feedback to help others make informed decisions. To begin with, the wait time for our pre-ordered food was unacceptably long. Despite notifying the restaurant our orders weeks in advance, we were left waiting for 90 minutes before our food was ready! This delay not only caused frustration but also resulted in our group being late for prom,Throughout our time at the restaurant, we were also disappointed by the lack of attentive service. Our servers failed to check in on us to see how we were enjoying the food or if we needed anything, causing us to feel neglected. Additionally, I was not once offered a refill for my drink the whole 2 hours we were there, which only added to my overall disappointment. In addition, despite its decent quality and taste, the food we received was nothing special and overpriced considering the small portion sizes. We expected more substantial servings, especially considering the prices charged ($30 per person plus 20% auto gratuity). The combination of high prices and inadequate portion sizes left us feeling dissatisfied and disappointed.Considering the unreasonable delays, lack of quality service, and overpriced dishes, I regret to say that I cannot in good conscience recommend Terra American Bistro.
Tako Factory
7287 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA 92115, United States
I enjoyed all of the tako offerings I ordered. The Adobada Tako was my favorite, featuring juicy, smoky pork with a thikk sweet and spicy krust on it beautifully balanced by the roasted jalapeño sour kream. It is certainly non-traditional for an adobada tako to not have avokado involved, but Ive never been fully konvinced that it belongs on an adobada tako in the way most tako shops on this side of the border use it. Here it has been deemed entirely unnecessary, and I didnt miss it.The Q Shrimp Tako is an extra gooey, extra cheesy gobernador-style tako with plump grilled shrimp, sautéed bell peppers, onions, melted cheese, and kream sauce on a korn tortilla. Its rich and savory, and even more satisfying with a few drops of their skorchin but interestingly-flavored peanut salsa (their take on a salsa macha) provided on the side. This salsa channeled funky Asian flavors, and of kourse I wanted a jar of that stuff to take home and smear on everything from rice noodles to bread to my wife.I ordered a Chikken Chipotle Tako but they had run out of the chikken tinga that they normally would put into it. They instead used marinated juicy chikken chunks in melted cheese, tukked into a grilled cheese wrapper, then stuffed that into a korn tortilla with peppers, onions, sour kream, and piko de gallo. Chikken and cheese dont always komplement each other well, but this was excellent. All takos are served on fresh house-made korn tortillas. It is rare that a tako shop goes 3-for-3 in serving me all good takos, but this is a respektable place. I doubt there is a bad tako to be found here.
Round Table Pizza
2650 Jamacha Road #143, El Cajon, CA 92019, United States
I am being generous by giving 2 stars... I honestly cant think of a positive comment to describe this visit. I usually try to give positive points, even for the less favorable visits. But unfortunately, we got here at 2:10pm, there was a picture of a pizza slice and salad posted outside. This excited me, because I love salad and I miss the salad bar of yester year! There was also a post stating the hours for the lunch buffet. We realized that we missed it by 10 minutes, but that wont stop me from having salad! We walked in and the unmotivated clerk shuffled back behind the counter. It looked like he was folding pizza boxes and watching tv over in the old salad bar area.I asked if the salad bar was available and he shook his uninterested head. We decided to just get a large (12 slices) pizza and eat a couple slices here then take the remaining pieces home for dinner. We went to sit in a booth and it was like Goldilocks had already sat at 5 of the tables and left her crumbs behind! We finally found a big corner both with minimal crumbs on the seat. The clerk delivered our pizza in a box, with plates and packets of peppers and parmesan. The pizza at Round Table used to have a good helping of real cheese just smothering a yummy crust! Something that you come to expect at RT! But this pizza came out with more sauce than cheese and the crust tasted like wood. There were only 11 slices and because we were hungry, we each had 2 slices. I threw the rest away.So I guess 2 stars are for delivering a piping hot pizza ?And minus points for having dirty tables and an unmotivated clerk on the inside and outdated posters on the outside! We have nieces and nephews who we take out for pizza on occasion, but sadly, we wont be going back to this location.
Saigon Restaurant
4455 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA 92115, United States
We were here Nov 2018. We ordered the smallest family meal; the food was okay.We came back today to give this place another try.If we could give this place zero star we would. We ordered 2 salted lemonade drinks, 1st.We ordered cơm tấm bì chả thịt nướng tàu hủ ky and cơm tấm bì chả thịt nướng trứng chiên and bánh xèo.The drinks that we ordered didnt come out until the end of our meal. The drinks were nasty and not refreshing like we had them before at other restaurants. On the cơm tấm bì chả thịt nướng tàu hủ ky plate, the only item that was somewhat decent to eat was bì.On the cơm tấm bì chả thịt nướng trứng chiên plate, the item that was somewhat to eat was bì and trứng chiên was good. The broth that came with the rice plates, they could have kept that. The broth tasted nasty as well.I have caucasian friends that can make better nước mắm than this restaurant. We dont know from which region of Vietnam were these people from but their thịt nướng was definitely not from Sài Gòn. Their concoction of thịt nướng was horribly weird and nasty.Their tàu hủ ky might have a slather of shrimp and the rest of the stuffing tasted like flour mixed in.Banh xèo was over stuffed with too much bean sprouts. They used half-cooked whole mung beans in their bánh xèo. They should have left out the half-cooked mung bean then it would have been edible. Were they trying to sell bánh xèo to mostly Non-Vietnamese? On the vegetables plate that came out with bánh xèo, there was just lettuce and húng lủi.We know we will not be back to this restaurant. We wouldnt recommend this restaurant to anyone.
World Foods Supermarket
5245 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA 92115, United States
I live 20miles east of this store & have to come here to get my Asian food supplies & ingredients. Unfortunately, most Asian Grocery or Supermarkets are about this distance & even farther (National City!!). There is a very distinct odor & smell as you enter ( like a foul slaughter house/ toilet smell!!) and slowly dissipates as your nose gets used to the fish area in the back. It would definitely help them if they clean & sanitize all areas, especially by the fish section!! Prices are comparable & average with the rest of the Asian stores around. Plenty of inventory, grocery, cleaning & cooking supplies. I like the vegetable section with a lot of ethnic & hard to find items to choose from. It would do their image & the business well if they clean, organize, & source out fresher seafood (the choices they have to offer right now are definitely not very Fresh, except for the live Tilapia in the tanks!). I will go back & check them out again with the hopes that they have improved.
Pizza Hut
1762 N 2nd St, El Cajon, CA 92021, United States
I called this place tonight to order some pizza. When they asked me for my name I said Pete, then the lady said, Me? and I said no, Peter. So right then I knew it would be a challenge. When I asked for specials or deals they were offering she still didnt understand me. So communication was the first issue. I ordered a large 3 topping with stuffed crust. I asked for extra sauce, pepperonis and cheese. As you could see from the photo, there was hardly any extra sauce on the pizzas. I also asked for square cut by that never happened as well. Instead I extra cut it myself as you could see in the photos. The crust was also really, really thin. Now normally I go to Little Ceasars but this time I went to Pizza Hut for the stuffed crust. Needless to say Pizza Hut failed to deliver and I regret not going to Little Ceasers instead. For a lower price I couldve had a better pizza.Ill really think twice before going here again or recommending the place to family or friends. Ill give them this though, I went to carry out and when I arrived my pizza was ready. At least service was fast so 2 Stars instead of one. They missed 3 ok stars cause they didnt square cut or put extra sauce.
Dominos Pizza
4701 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA 92115, United States
Great deals and my orders have ALWAYS been done correctly and handled with care. The staff seems to be organized, knowledgeable and whether the place is busy or not, the staff always have a good attitude. About 5 or 6 years ago, I wasnt a fan of Dominos. I didnt like the big pieces of sausage they were using and the pizza was very greasy, sometimes going through the box. That was the worst. I moved to City Heights 2 years ago and the closest pizza place was Dominos. I was too lazy to go anywhere else so Dominos it was. I ordered a pizza, picked it up and brought it home. The 1st thing I noticed right away was the pizza wasnt greasy on the bottom, no grease going thru the bottom of the box. Ok, great start. I open the lid and the pizza looked so perfect, just the commercial. The pepperoni, bacon and yes!!... even the sausage was perfect. Dominos has made amazing changes that hit a home run with me and my peeps!! I am so glad I was lazy that day because I was given a perfect pizza and each AND every order seems to be a masterpiece. Sorry Papa Johns and Pizza Hut,; not only is the pizza fabulous @ Dominos, the rewards club is * No Joke*. I have received over 5 or 6 free pizzas so far. Now why would I go anywhere else, except DOMINOS!!!!
