Minh Ky Restaurant
4644 El Cajon Blvd #101, San Diego, CA 92115, United States
I really wanted to like Minh Ky Chinese Restaurant, especially with all the glowing reviews from locals, former residents and Chinese food enthusiasts.Similar to a lot of yall and particularly the ones foraging Minh Kys reviews, my mouth was watering. The photos of the crisp, moist roasted duck nestled next to a simple, yet picturesque bowl of egg noodles instantly sent Minh Ky Chinese Restaurant, including their ranking on multiple food blogs and articles, to the top of my must try restaurants in San Diego.I went today and unfortunately, Minh Ky didnt live up to the hype. This place had all the right essentials --- two fabulously kind, but sassy Aunties working the front area, two or three tables of first timers and the locals who went in and out with their takeout orders. Yup, there were a ton of loyal customers that knew the restaurant, workers and staff. The entire vibe was awesome, home-like and reminded a lot of back home. I had high expectations. We ordered Roasted Duck with Egg Noodles and my partner got the Crispy Egg Noodles w/ Combination. My soup was incredibly hot, which was awesome. The noodles were well, your typical egg noodles from your local Chinese grocery store, which definitely hit the spot. You really cant mess that up. The duck, however, was a big miss. It was meaty and chunky, which is pretty rare from your usual bony, waterfowl poultry dishes. The skin and flavor left much to be desired.Similarly with my partners dish, the flavoring was just okay.Overall, if youre looking for a simple, safe and incredibly affordable Chinese take out place, check out Minh Ky. The flavors didnt blow us away, but the portions and large menu of Chinese takeout favorites will definitely demand you take a second look.

A Chau Restaurant
4644 El Cajon Blvd, San Diego, CA 92115, United States
Time to give this place some tough love. I have been a customer for years and I return because the food is top notch. Having said that, glaring problems still exist.1. They keep screwing up my sandwich. The problem stems more from the owner than the person making the food it seems. The owner would shout out the sandwich order with hopes of the correct sandwich being made. This method leaves a lot of room for errors especially when things get busy. I noticed that they sometimes write the order down and pass it along to the person making the food and that seems to be more successful but I still get the incorrect sandwich sometimes. They need to reorganize. I just dont want a certain item in a certain sandwich sometimes. Its not that complicated.2. Customer service isnt terrible but could use an improvement. Instead of looking miserable all the time, a smile and a thank you goes a long way.

Last night visiting this restaurant had to be the most humilating and total lack of respect for the customer Ive ever experienced. Before I explain my problem regarding last night I will focus on the positive. I live in El Cajon and theres a multitude of restaurant choices in the area. I have visited location on several occasions and up until last night had no issues or complaints. The food is good with great portions and fresh. The staff has always been courteous. So regarding last night 2/16/17 I had a strong craving for Orange Chicken with Salt and Pepper Wings and some hot and sour soup because the weather was chilly. I placed my order online which was the first time ever doing so since the location is about 5 minutes from my house. Also the restaurant was closing in 45 minutes and I just wanted to make sure I order my food promptly. So, my girlfriend orders my food for me while I was driving and I showed her the menu items I wanted. Clearly the wings say 5.99 and the Orange Chicken says 7.99 for a large portion and that was what I ordered. So we arrive at the restaurant and I noticed the total had 7.99 wings and orange chicken 7.99. So I show the cashier the price online and the address and the menu to make sure I wasnt delusional and making up anything. Of course, she didnt know how to handle the situation so she called her manager upfront. I showed him the menu online that I ordered from and the pricing. The only difference on the entire menu was the wings showing 5.99 online and the restaurant signage showing 7.99. Now I began to explain to him that I just called in my order and there was a price discrepancy of 2.00 dollars. 1st, he tells me that he didnt put the price online and he couldnt honor that price. 2nd he explains that the price is over 5 years old and its no longer the price. 3rd, he tells me that I didnt read the correct menu and it was my fault that I ordered from a Google menu. So all the while hes talking I calmly asked so are you going to lose a customer tonight over 2.00 dollars. I told him I had been to this location many times in the past 5 months and I was craving the menu I placed. Are you really going to let me walk out the door with no food and lose a repeat customer. He politely said that is your choice but I cannot give you the wings for 5.99 and Im sorry have a nice night. Now, I understand situations where customers complain and have frivolous requests. Here was an example of poorly executed customer service on part of Lucky Chinese Fast Food. They will not be getting my business no more and Im sure to tell friend so they can tell a friend of my experience.

This was my second visit. I so enjoy this restaurant! It is an all you can eat, Chinese restaurant. Ive only had lunch each time. The place is very spacious inside. The tables are not piled on top of each other. The area for serving yourself has plenty of room to move around. Its very clean. The food and choices are fantastic!! So many different choices! Each time Ive been there, I make sure to try different foods Ive never had before. The presentation for some of the food is wonderful! If something happens to be popular, you dont need to worry about waiting patiently for more to be brought out. I need to repeat myself, about all the different choices they have! There food tastes as good as it looks!! Years ago I remember the first time I had the little fried wontons with cream cheese inside. Oh my goodness! It was hard finding a restaurant that served them. Or if they had them, I wasnt paying a arm for just a couple of them. Im a happy camper at this place!! One last thing. Speaking of charging an arm, it wont happen here!! There pricing is very, very reasonable. So you can be happy coming and going!!

Worst customer service I ever had here. I have no idea whats wrong with the staffs attitudes here today on 12/10/2021 around 4:40pm but I didnt feel like I was treated as a customer today. I have never had an issue with Panda before in my life and order with the same terminology Panda uses when ordering. I only ordered 2 plates and 1 plate has 3 items. 2 entrees and 1 side. Both plates had the same items except one had orange chicken and the other was broccoli with beef. I told the young teenage looking girl what each container will have and only stared at me.....she asked if its half and half and I said yes. She stared at me again. I asked did you hear me? She said yes in a rude voice. Idk why she kept staring at me when she already knew the items in both containers and even wrote them down.....there was no other question like is that all or anything so idk what the confusion was. She gave up and this older asian woman came and stepped in with a worse attitude. I got flustered and sighed and said the exact same orders nothing new. They were both half and half on the items I said yes to and just regular plates. She too kept staring blankly and so I felt like I kept repeating myself endlessly with no reason. But thats how you order you state the object like if its a bowl or a plate. Thats why I said 2 plates........they both get 3 items...just different portions....so idk whats wrong. I agreed to half and half on my items I told them on and they just acted as if I was speaking nonsense or a different language.....we finally came to a conclusion and got rung up correctly. So idk what happened....and why they made a scene over the menu thats very simple. Idk if they dont understand what a yes means to a half and half and if they know its 3 items idk.....it was weird and felt like they didnt want us there. Idk why there was confusion when the receipt was perfectly fine too.......

Food not fresh, bad service. They forgot to give orange chicken when I asked for it. Food tasted a few hours old. They didn’t offer any utensils. Just don’t waste your money and go support a local real Chinese restaurant.

Saigon Restaurant

Definitely one of my favorite spots in Little Saigon. They have the largest noodle selection in ANY of the Vietnamese/Chinese restaurant Ive ever been to. Seriously, the noodle selection in infinite over 300+ options. I highly recommend the Spicy Yellow Noodle soup, Beef Pho, or the Seafood Yellow Noodle Stir fry! A very authentic spot run by a sweet family. Highly recommend this Vietnamese restaurant in San Diego.

This is yet another hidden gem of a Chinese restaurant in San Diego. Skip all the larger chain restaurants and try this one instead! They have plenty of seating, the staff was very friendly, and the food was excellent. The orange chicken was very crispy and delicious, the crab rangoons were cooked perfectly, and the fried rice was excellent. This restaurant has some of the best orange chicken that Ive tried as well. There is plenty of parking, as this restaurant is located in a pretty big strip mall. I found this restaurant on a recommendation, and I will definitely be going back for more when Im in the area.

Have been coming here for 4 years and never had bad customer service…until today 12/11/23 approx. 12:30 pm. the girl behind the counter was overwhelmed being alone I get it . The line barriers were up against the counter so I stood by them and when she was ready to take orders she purposely ignored me and started taking the order of the people next to me when I said I was next she rudely replied the line was over there then at checkout I asked for napkins and with an attitude she replied we are out that's why the holder was empty…I eat lunch here at least 2 times a week and will now not come back
